Welcome to the summer edition of Minnesota Moments.
Looking back, honoring veterans and picking strawberries!
This has been a fun issue to put together. We have assembled an array of interesting stories and photos for you to check out.
First, there is a new feature called “Blast From the Past” in which we update you on some of the stories that we published in the past. In this edition, you’ll find updates on David and Gabrielle Meyer, who appeared on our cover five years ago, the first year we published Minnesota Moments. This time around, we focus on the Meyers’ daughters. We also look back and provide updated stories about artist Dan Mondloch and photographer Chris Lommel.
Our “Salute to Veterans” is another extra special aspect of this edition. The salute honors veterans, both living and dead, for their service to our country. We are proud to be able to salute veterans in this manner and plan to make this an annual feature.
In addition, we want to give a big thanks to our southern Minnesota correspondent, Audrey Kletscher Helbling, who spearheaded our wonderful feature on places to pick strawberries and compiled scrumptious recipes for those succulent strawberries. So, don’t eat them all out of the bucket or as you’re washing them in the kitchen sink.
As always, there are many more features for you to enjoy, including a story about camping in state parks, essays from some of our loyal readers, and a garage where beautiful music is made.
