Warm up to winter
Hats off to our southern Minnesota correspondent, Audrey Kletscher Helbling, for coordinating two very nice projects for this edition of the magazine.
The first was our “Snapshots of Love” contest, for which we received many wonderful entries that are sure to bring a smile to your face. It was great to see all the nostalgic photographs and read the words that described the stories that were unfolding when the shutter was snapped. Since Valentine’s Day is in February, we thought this issue would be the perfect time for publishing the entries. We are hopeful they will warm your heart against the chill of winter.
Audrey also coordinated the package on Minnesota bloggers. Most of you by now probably know what a blog is, but if you don’t, do not feel bad. I don’t believe bloggers existed as little as 10 years ago. According to Wikipedia: “A blog (a blend of the term WEB LOG). It’s a type of website. Blogs are usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video.”
Audrey decided it would be fun to look at what 10 bloggers from around the state had to say. Oh, according to Wikipedia, as of February 2011, there were more than 156 million public blogs in existence. There are other interesting stories in the magazine as well, including a piece on the Olive Branch Retreat in central Minnesota. If you want to experience the Minnesota seasons in the most peaceful of settings, consider a stay at the Olive Branch.
As always, we hope you enjoy this edition of the magazine. We’ll see you in the spring.
